| 英文描述 | In 1994 a new zoonotic disease of horses was identified in Australia. A paramyxovirus, now known as Hendra virus of the genus MEGAMYXOVIRUS, has been shown to be the the cause of this disease. Fruit bats are the wildlife hosts for the virus. Clinical signs are primarily of the respiratory system but nervous signs can also occur. There is an incubation period of 8-16 days. This virus does not appear to spread easily between horses and is not highly infectious to humans. Some sick horses have recovered and antibodies were detected in people who recovered from the disease or never had clinical signs. Diagnose by viral isolation. |
